OUR STORY

Arcadian Acres is owned and operated by Jim and Alexis, your not so typical father daughter duo.

Jim grew up on a dairy farm where he learned to be a jack of all trades. After moving off the farm he found this plot of land. He fell in love with the old lilac bushes, apple trees, and asparagus patches. Around this time Alexis came into his life, she was 4 years old. He took her under his wing, raising her like she was his own, teaching her all he knew. As Alexis got older her passion for everything agriculture grew. She learned about soil health, canning, preserving, and all the old ways of homesteading. With their combined love for this property, health, and the environment they continue to grow and improve the farm. They aren’t interested in feeding the masses but rather feed the community around them.

HOW WE FARM

We are a small farm that strives to be diverse and sustainable.

Starting with healthy soils we attempt to grow the most nutrient dense food. We never spray pesticides or herbicides and always grow with nature, instead of against it.
Growing extensively instead of intensively allows us to create an environment where people and wildlife can thrive.
As you walk around our property you will notice we make the most out of our two acres. We have nut trees, fruit trees, berry bushes, and grape vines. Vegetable, Flower and herb Gardens. Mushroom logs and compost piles. Goats, horses, free range chickens, dogs, and our farm manager Johnny the cat! We like to show people that you don’t need 30 acres to farm.

Why Arcadian?

Arcadian is an adjective for

“an ideal rural paradise”

or as we like to call it our own little Eden.
